Oil & Gas Glossary
A dehydration unit removes water vapor from produced gas. The common field design is a TEG glycol contactor with a reconcentrator. Without dehydration, gas hydrates in cold weather, and wet gas corrodes downstream pipe and measurement.
Permian gas is often wet enough that a wellsite or battery needs dehydration before it enters a gathering system that was designed for a pipeline spec. The unit is specified on gas rate, inlet water content, and outlet water spec—not as a generic “gas processing” skid.
Redhead Services does not list a standalone dehydrator product page. We support production facilities that already run dehydration alongside compression, measurement, and vapor control. For related equipment see meter runs and wellhead compressors.
