Oil & Gas Glossary
A leveling plate is a steel plate set under compressor, generator, or process skids to spread load and let the crew get the package level on a pad or caliche. Greaseable plates include a fitting so the contact surface can be lubricated, which makes it easier to slide or re-level equipment later without tearing up the pad.
Permian pads settle, wash, and take traffic. A skid that sits on raw caliche will rack piping and misalign couplings. Plates are a small item compared with the compressor they sit under, and they are often the difference between a package that stays aligned and one that works itself out of level after the first rain.
Redhead Services supplies greaseable leveling plates for oilfield equipment sets, including packages such as wellhead compressors.
